New Interact Study: “Making the Most of Macro-regional Strategies”

Interact has become a well-established organisation that plays an important role in Interreg, in cooperation between EU Member States and EU regions, and along the external borders of the EU. They have prepared a practical study on macro-regions, presented best practices to support learning process among the four strategies.
The booklet intends to take stock of this development and its multifaceted aspects. Interact has the task to establish a learning process among the four strategies. This booklet has been planned, designed and conceived in the spirit of promoting and spreading the macro-regional idea.

ROMACT Call for transnational cooperation and capacity building is now open
The ROMACT programme published a new call for proposal for grants of the Transnational Cooperation and Capacity Building component. The call concerns support for transnational working visits. Interested municipalities are invited to submit an application until 1 February 2018.

How to combat human trafficking in the cities of the Danube Region?
In the Round table on Preventing and Combating Human Traficking and Exploitation at local level, experts and civil servants dealing with human trafficking in their everyday work gathered to discuss how to fight human trafficking and exploitation. Good practices and knowledge from different countries were shared.

Danube Financing and Capacity Building Dialogue: How do we make financing for development work?
Discussions on how to boost regional development and better implement macro-regional strategies, often focus on the availability of funding - on the availability of EU funding in particular. However, there is more to regional development than the mere amount of EU funding, that needs to be considered. Priority Area 10 “Institutional Capacity and Cooperation” introduced the first Danube Financing and Capacity Building Dialogue format in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment of the Republic of Moldova and Foster Europe in Chisinau from 26th to 27th of October 2017. The conference aimed at exchanging on how different funding opportunities can be aligned and used through a strategic planning approach in order to be most efficient and effective.
