Expert Workshop: Cross border collaboration on Functional Urban Area level

Posted by Claudia Singer, Tuesday, 22nd October 2019 @ 3:41 pm
Location: Prague
Friday, 15th November 2019 @ 9:00 am - Friday, 15th November 2019 @ 2:00 pm

Priority Area 10 of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region aims at institutional capacity-building and cooperation at local, regional and national level, involvement of civil society in public governance and increasing local development. Based on the Action Plan of the EUSDR one of the activities of PA10 is to build metropolitan regions in the Danube Region.

In this context, a policy paper on metropolitan regions providing guidance for cities and municipalities to build functional metropolitan regions with a transnational benefit for the Danube Region is under elaboration. The document assesses areas of cooperation that can be further developed by cities and municipalities according to the specific needs and challenges in the regions. Therefore, recommendations for effective collaboration within metropolitan regions need to be identified. PA10, together with EuroVienna, therefore organizes an expert workshop to identify and discuss drivers and barriers on cross border collaboration on Functional Urban Area level.
