ESF Network Danube Region

The ESF Network Danube Region is a network of Managing Authorities of the European Social Fund (ESF) in the Danube Region, Priority Area 9 "People and Skills" and Priority Area 10 "Institutional Capacity and Cooperation" of the EU Stragey for the Danube Region. The network aims at exchanging and cooperating in order to support transnational cooperation and implementation of objectives related to social inclusion and institutional capacity building in the Danube Region.

According to the Joint Statement of Ulm, the ministers in charge of EU Funds, European Affairs and European Integration (2015) reiterated the need for alignment of programmes relevant for the EUSDR implementation, the need for embedding the EUSDR into the 2014-2020 ESIF Operational Programs as well as the need for transparent and timely communication and exchange of information between the actors managing the ESIF Programmes and those in charge of the EUSDR implementation.

Against this background the ESF Managing Authorities of Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria launched a network of ESF Managing Authorities in the Danube Region in order to contribute to the EUSDR, share know-how and experience between ESF managing Authorities, foster transnational cooperation between ESF projects and to establish close links to the EUSDR structures. Thus, Prioirty Area 9 "People and Skills" and Priority Area 10 "Institutional Capacity and Cooperation" joined the network and exchanges with the ESF Managing Authorities in the Danube Region on transnational project cooperation, programme coordination and embedding of projects/programmes in the strategic context of the EUSDR.
