Danube Cities Against Human Trafficking - what is the role of cities and municipalities
Trafficking in human beings (THB) is a complex phenomenon that is highly dependent on regional and local economic, social as well as cultural factors. Priority Area 10 is playing an active role in facilitating a discussion among experts, municipalities, cities and non-governmental organizations. Only common efforts can result in tangible steps for combating human trafficking and exploitation.

On April 18th 2018 around 30 experts, practitioners, academics, representatives of municipalities, civil society organizations, international organizations and others interested in the topic of combating human trafficking from nine countries from Danube Region and wider gathered in Slovenia.

The EU programme Horizon 2020 prepares a call for proposals on enhancing trust governance. The call is supposed to be opened on November 2018. The call aims at supporting measures that address the challenge to restore and improve trust as a basis for sustainable and legitimate governance. Prepare now!

EU call on Roma integration initiatives soon opens
The EU Rights, Equality and Citizenship programme supports national and transnational projects on Roma inclusion and anti-discrimination. The call opens on 17 May 2018. Applications can be submitted until 9 October 2018.

The Institute for the Danube Region and Central Europe (IDM) is organising the 6th Young Scholars Forum (YSF) on Central- and South East Europe. The forum aims at encouraging young scholars to exchange with peers. Applications for participation can be submitted until 30 June 2018.

Imagine social public service that makes good and efficient use of public administration's resources as well as most effectively and satisfactorily caters to the needs of citizens...Integrated services proved to be a promising way to fulfill these goals in European regions. Now, the ESF Transnational Platform published a dossier sharing their lessons learned and show how a more client-centered perspective and participation might change public service as we know it.
